This artwork takes a critical view of social, political, and cultural issues. This body of work is related to the past. This project I started at the beginning of 2018, and I plan to continue working on in the future. This body of work contains six covers of magazines with digital images of my own where I am borrowing for educational purposes and the cover design and branding elements from LIFE magazine. The photos are 11” x 14” mounting in black mats and framing in 16” x 20” frames. Some of the images are black and white, and others are in color. They are printed on an EPSON photo-quality inkjet printer. The goal of this project is to create twenty covers using the same elements and words that infer a political feeling.
Political dialogues are an essential way of remaining involved in the processes that govern the nation. This is a series of artwork which is attempting to initiate a dialogue about politics in a safe environment without being judged. This is a book 11" x17" and the book contains 18 images. This book was created in Fall 2018.
